SOUL FEELINGS

Recall the kind of feeling you have when someone praises you, when you are approved, accepted, applauded. And contrast that with the kind of feeling that arises within you when you look at the sunset or the sunrise, or nature in general or when you read a book or watch a movie that you thoroughly enjoy. Get the taste of this feeling.

And contrast it with the first namely the one that was generated with you when you were praised. Understand that the first type of feeling comes from self-glorification, self promotion. It is a worldly feeling. The second comes from self- fulfillment , a soul feeling.

STORAGE AND SPACE MAKING

Until you are ready to make structural changes, you can give the illusion of more space by controlling clutter through good storage, and bouncing more light into the room using pale colors, large mirrors or even minored wall tiles.

Banish the bevy of bottles that always wind up on bench tops, windowsills, bath and shower recesses. Keep everything more tidy, yet still close at hand, by installing shelves under or over your vanity; or by using a butler's tray on a fold up frame, or old wooden dessert trolley you've refinished.

For a high tech look hang wire grid wall racks with interchangeable hooks and baskets to hold bulky hair dryers, shavers, styling mousse, shaving cream, brushes and combs; installing this near a mirror and power outlet is best. Smaller items could be contained in handsome cane or lacquer carry trays easily moved aside when more bench space is needed.

CHOLESTEROL CONTROL

Cholesterol is found only in foods of animal origin, such as meat, fish, poultry, eggs and dairy items. The highest concentration exists in mineral organs, egg yolk and shell fish. Plant products do not contain any cholesterol. The amount of cholesterol in breads, deserts, and combination foods depends upon the amount of milk, eggs and dairy products used in the recipe. In addition to containing cholesterol, foods of animal origin are also frequently high in saturated fats, which raise the body's cholesterol production by the liver.

It is recommended that you choose a diet of low in total fat. Saturated fat, especially should be avoided. cholesterol intake recommendations should be consistent with the level of serum cholesterol levels in your blood. To accomplish the correct levels of serum cholesterol, it is important to keep the dietary cholesterol intake ideally below 100 mg per day.

GARDENING WITH WEATHER

If the weather is mild this is still a good month to put in herbaceous perennials to form the back bone of a flower border. Planting them in autumn rather than spring gives them a chance to develop a strong root system.

Roughly dig over empty ground ready for planting next spring. Leave the frost to do the work of breaking clods of earth into a fine tithe.
Check supports, stakes and ties for climbers and other plants in that could be bowled over by winter gales.

Plant deciduous trees and shrubs and fruit trees when the weather is fine. Clean glass panes in the greenhouse or conservatory so that plants can make the most of scarce winter sunlight.

Finish planting tulips and check any bulbs in sacks for forcing. If there is one or more of growth, uncover them and move to a warmer shaded spot.

Clear the last of the bedding plants, bringing fuchsias and geraniums indoors of you have not already done so. Cover delicate alpines against rot, especially those with hairy or grey leaves. Plant carnations and pinks if your soil is sandy. Bend and half snap the inner leaves over cauliflower curds to protect then from frost.

GOUT

Gout, which is actually a metabolic disorder, is a condition that especially affects joint of the big toe, and sometimes the ankle joint, causing the area to become swollen, but and acutely painful. Although the specific cause of gout is not yet clearly understood, the symptoms can be alleviated by special medication prescribed by a physician. An attack of gout can be triggered by a wide variety of causes : wearing the wrong shoes, eating a diet too rich in fats, getting a bad chill, surgery in some other part of the body or chronic emotional anxiety, as well as the use of certain medicines such as diuretics.

BUNIONS

A bunion is a deformation in the part of the foot that is joined by the big toe. The swelling and pain at the joint is caused by inflammation of the bursa that lubricates the joint. Although bunions often develop because of wearings shoes that frequently accompany flat feet, they most don't fit correctly. pain that is not too severe can be relieved by the application of heat; the condition may eventually be cured by doing foot exercises recommended by a physician, who will also help in the choice of correct footwear. A bunion that causes acute pain and limping can be treated by a simple surgical procedure.

CALLUSES

A callus is an area of the skin that has become hard and thick as a result of constant friction or pressure against it. Pain results when the callus is pressed against a nerve by poorly fitting shoes. A painful callus can be partially removed by rubbing it-very cautiously - with a sand paper file or a pumice stone sold for that purpose. The offending shoes should then be discarded for correctly fitted ones. Foot care by a podiatrist is recommended for anyone with recurring calluses and corns and especially for those people who have diabetes or any disorder of the arteries.
